About
About Jun Liu
Jun Liu is a GEO consultant based in Cixi, Zhejiang, China, and the founder of AccessSmith. Through AccessSmith he runs GEO audits, AI visibility tracking, and fix-and-monitor programs for brands that sell across borders. The work measures how six AI platforms — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini, Grok, and Claude — talk about a brand: whether it is mentioned, whether its pages are cited, and whether the answer recommends it. Every engagement produces evidence first and opinions second: the actual AI answers are saved, scored, and shown to the client, including the answers where the brand does not appear at all. Jun works remotely with clients worldwide and delivers every engagement personally, rather than handing it to a junior team. That is deliberate — an audit is only as good as the judgment behind the fix list.
Background
The operator years: 22 + 13
Before GEO, I spent 22 years in product management and 13 years in e-commerce in China, leading product categories that scaled to hundreds of millions in revenue. Product work teaches you to start from the user's actual question, not from the feature you want to sell. E-commerce teaches you that visibility is revenue: a product nobody finds is a product nobody buys, no matter how good it is. Both lessons turned out to be the whole job in GEO. AI platforms are simply the newest shelf — one where the shopkeeper answers questions on your behalf, and gets your facts wrong if you have not published them clearly enough to be quoted. I have managed the full cycle — research, specification, launch, iteration — so my fix lists are written to be executed, not admired.
Method
Three rules run every project
First, measure before advising: no recommendations until the AI answers are in hand. Second, separate the angles: a brand can be mentioned but never cited, or cited but never recommended, and each failure has a different fix — so the audit reports mention rate, citation rate, and recommendation rate separately, for the brand and for every product or SKU. Third, report honestly: if the numbers are bad, the report says so, with the evidence attached. AI answers change monthly, which is why monitoring is part of the service and not an afterthought: a fix that worked in spring can quietly stop working by autumn. Clients see the same scores I see, from the same saved answers. Nothing in the methodology is a black box.
The Name
Why “JUN & GEO”?
JUN & GEO is the name on the door of this practice. Jun is my name; GEO — Generative Engine Optimization — is the discipline I practice. The domain, jungeo.com, is simply the two written as one word. Services are delivered through AccessSmith, the practice I founded; this site is where I publish the framework, the standards, and the notes behind the work. In Chinese, I write about overseas GEO on my WeChat official account, JUN的AI出海笔记.
